Ridgemere Training and Development - It’s a strange name I know but, like a lot of names it has some significant meaning. It’s a contradition – like most of life! A ridge is high – some ridges were ancient pathways – many provide amazing views over the surrounding countryside. When you are on a ridge you are exposed and potentially vulnerable but often it is an exhilarating experience as you feel the wind against your skin. You can see where you want to go – you can see your route ahead. How would it feel if you had that kind of clarity in your life and business?

So, Ridgemere… A lake that is broader than it’s deep is called a ‘mere’ but you won’t usually find a lake on a ridge. It will normally be down in a valley. If you could sound its hidden depths you would find all kinds of things. The broad expanse of water in the mere is always changing – colour, patterns, reflections, still or choppy. Can you imagine being excited by the opportunities those changes bring? As Norman Vincent Peale said “Change your thoughts and you change your world”.

The contradiction in the name ‘Ridgemere’ is a metaphor for our life and experience, and one of the things that Ridgemere does is helping people discover their potential, both in terms of where they can go and the resources they have within them. That’s the reason the other part of our business is called ‘Destinations Unlimited’. Why should anyone be limited in what they want to do?

And what is true for individuals is true for organisations. How many organisations never reach their potential because they don’t fully use the resources they have or don’t have any clear idea of where they are going?
